The mission of the AYYA is to provide a venue for players and collectors to come together in fellowship, and to engage in the promotion of yo-yo playing as an art form and a sport. It is also to render assistance to fellow yo-yo players and collectors, by providing an accessible source of information about yo-yo people and events.
The purpose of the AYYA is to foster competition by establishing uniform standards for running sanctioned competitions for all levels of skill from the novice to the professional and offering scholarships to qualified yo-yo players to help defray the costs of participating in the National Yo-Yo Championships. World Records will be monitored and recorded, and the Yo-Yo Hall of Fame will be managed.

As an organization, we strive to reach these goals/mission. We are only as strong as our membership, and the Board of Directors is comprised of members who want to give back to the community.

Here is what we do:
• Track World Records
• Manage the Hall of Fame process
• Provide a Scholarship for players
• Champion of the year points race
• Limited Edition yo-yo for collectors/players
• Work with the NYYL to facilitate yo-yo contests through sanctioning. (process that can really help the beginning contest organizer. This is done to help the sport grow to the lower state and even city level) We try to make running a contest fun and fair for everyone.
• Provide prize patches to contests who become sanctioned.
• AYYA Television episodes by Higby.
• Make connections between organizations looking for pros and players and the players themselves. We are often contacted by media or organizations looking to hire a demonstrator from their area. We pass along the information that is required.

We use the special talents of anyone on the BOD to spread yo-yoing everywhere we can.
