The AYYA is the organization charged with keeping and tracking the Yo-Yo World Records. The records were originally established at the World Yo-Yo Championship in Rapid City, South Dakota in 1996. Since that time, technology has greatly changed in the yo-yo world that has caused many of the records to be eclipsed. But, every record that has ever been set is listed in the database, so check out the past records too. |

The AYYA Champion will be decided based on a point system. Point values shall be assigned to a player based on the level of competition and their placement in a freestyle. Everyone who enters a contest will be given points. However, only players who are AYYA members can win the points race, and only contests that are AYYA Sanctioned count towards the point totals. A player may become a member during the tracking season at anytime, and all their points will count in the points race. Thus points ARE retroactive. The year's AYYA Champion will be decided upon using contests between U.S. Nationals. (For example: The 2009 AYYA Champ scoring will use points from sanctioned contests starting after U.S. Nationals 2008 including and ending after U.S. Nationals 2009.). At Nationals a single AYYA Champion will be crowned.
The Point System:
National Yo-Yo Contest - Any Final Freestyle Division
1st Place - 10 points
2nd Place - 5 points
3rd Place - 3 points
4th Place - 1 point
5th Place or lower - .5
Regional Yo-Yo Contest - Any Final Freestyle Division
1st Place - 5 points
2nd place - 3 points
3rd place - 1 point
4th place or lower - .5 points
State Yo-Yo Contest - Any Final Freestyle Division
1st Place - 4 points
2nd Place - 2 points
3rd Place - 1 point
4th place or lower - .5 points
City Yo-Yo Contest - Any Final Freestyle Division
1st place - 3 points
2nd place - 2 points
3rd place - 1 point
4th place or lower - .5 points
The AYYA Champion will receive:
- A year free membership renewal
- A metal/plaque/trophy/certificate of some sort
- An AYYA Yo-Yo |

AYYA Scholarship for the National Yo-Yo Championships |

We are happy to announce that the AYYA will be offering a scholarship during this National Yo-Yo League season. The AYYA will provide $400.00 to an AYYA member who is traveling to Chico, California to compete in the Single A Division at the National yo-yo contest. The award is presented following the competition at the awards dinner. The player must be present to receive the prize. |
